Coronavirus Preparedness Statement
USE Federal Credit Union (USEFCU) is committed to the health and safety of its employees and Members, but also maintaining the service levels our Members expect. Given the growing concern about the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States, we are sharing a high-level summary of our preparedness.
USEFCU has a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan for maintaining operations under a wide variety of circumstances, including technology outages, natural disasters, terrorist attacks, and pandemics. We have developed the ability to maintain operations utilizing alternative locations and devices, and we provide our employees with sick time to be utilized in case of illness. Employees who are ill are encouraged to utilize sick time and stay home. USEFCU has provided guidance to all employees on how to stay healthy, which includes the advice of: washing hands, maintain your distance, get plenty of rest, hydrate, and keep tissues and sanitizer handy. Our Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan was created by our management and it is updated periodically to address changes to our business, systems, member needs, and the legal and regulatory environment.
Although we cannot predict how COVID-19 will spread and affect our organization, USEFCU’s executive team has had numerous meetings to discuss the pandemic’s potential risk. The executive team has discussed potential scenarios and our possible responses to them. These discussions are ongoing and we are ready as an organization to respond appropriately in order to serve our members. We are actively monitoring updates on COVID-19 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other authorities. We are confident that we are prepared to adapt to make sure that our employees are safe and that we are able to serve your needs in the event of an outbreak.
